Don’t Weep For Me

Life is a celebration of the living

A time for joy and sometimes sadness

A time for loving and learning

Death is a celebration for the living

A time of great sadness and longing

A time of remembrance and wishful thinking.

We aren’t given any guarantees of greatness

And my life had its sorrows and troubles

I did my best, and then asked for forgiveness

Death need not be full of sorrow

But can be a celebration of everlasting life

No longer burdened by tomorrow

I wish my death to be a time of celebration

I have experienced the joy of loving and giving

And I received abundant compensation

Don’t weep for me, even though I am gone

Lift your glass and toast to our memories

Celebrate life - for I am at home
