The US Army says they accomplish more by 9:00am than most people do all day. How much do you accomplish by 9:00am, 12:00 noon, or
even 5:00pm? Is this the best you can do or is it just the best you think you can do?
|If you never do more than you get made for,You will never get paid for more than you do.- Elbert Hubbard|
Maybe you are bored with your work and therefore you don’t put everything you have into it. Maybe you don’t see yourself being as
capable as your peers. Geoffrey Gaberino says ‘the real contest is always between what you've done and what you're capable of doing.
You measure yourself against yourself and nobody else’. Sidney Madwed puts it this way – ‘It is not the hours we put in on the job,
it is what we put into the hours that counts’.
|There are powers inside of you, if you could discover and use, would make of you everything you ever dreamed or imagined you could
become. --Orison Swett Marden|
Do you give your job (career) the best effort you are capable of giving? Have you been passed over for a promotion? Maybe you didn’t
get the raise you expected. Take a critical look at your past performance and judge it against what you are capable of doing. Are
you proud of that performance? If not, it’s up to you to make it better.
Remember – you don’t get paid just for showing up!
- Joe Freeman
Duties are not performed for duty’s sake, but because their neglect would make the man uncomfortable.A man performs but one duty—the
duty of contenting his spirit, the duty of making himself agreeable to himself.
