How Powerful Is The Mind?
Do you often think about all the terrible things that have happened to you in the past? Do you often find yourself thinking of all the terrible things may happen to you in the future? When we put a lot of focus on ‘terrible’ things happening, what do suppose is going on in your mind? What is your sub-conscious doing with all those thoughts of doom? Sidney Madwed said ‘our subconscious minds have no sense of humor, play no jokes and cannot tell the difference between reality and an imagined thought or image. What we continually think about eventually will manifest in our lives’.
What does this mean in our daily life? I believe it means that if you continually think about something terrible happening (job loss, relationship problems, etc.), your sub-conscious will eventually find a way to make it happen. Since the sub-conscious cannot tell the difference between reality and an imagined thought, it is ‘assuming’ that since you put so much thought into these issues, you must want them to come true. So – the sub-conscious guides your actions to make them come true.
If all this is true, just think about the power your mind has over your life. Are you controlling your thoughts or is your mind (sub-conscious) controlling your life?

Sidney Madwed also says ‘anyone who wants to enjoy success in all areas of his/her life must take charge of the internal dialogue’. You cannot succeed if you are continually waiting for a catastrophe to strike.

How do you stop this dialogue? Since the mind can only hold one thought at a time, the Silva Mind Control method recommends that when you catch yourself thinking about those potential disasters, you say out loud ‘Cancel – Cancel’, and then force yourself to move your thinking to a more positive thought. Try it. It just might help.

The worst thing you can
 possibly do is worrying
 and thinking about
 what you could have done.

The wise man thinks about his troubles only when there is some purpose in doing so; at other times
he thinks about others things.

Avoid destructive thinking.
 Improper negative thoughts sink people.
A ship can sail around the world many, many times,
but just let enough water get into the ship and it will sink.
Just so with the human mind.
Let enough negative thoughts or improper thoughts get into the human mind
and the person sinks just like a ship.
